How and why lightening occurs?

Hello guys,
Welcome back.This post is related to thundering and lightening.We all have witnessed lightening in our lives and often wondered the reason behind it.Researchers use high speed and high definition cameras to record lightening and to know its insights.Well here we would discuss about it.It all starts with formation of clouds.When the earth gets heated,the warm air(lighter in density)moves up.After reaching certain height it cools down and converts to clouds.The air above it is much colder which causes formation of ice blocks.This ice blocks when move hapazard,collide with each other and generate electric charges.The upper portion being positive and lower being negative.This negatively charged clouds induce positive charge on ground and electric discharge takes place between clouds and earth.This electrostatic discharge occurs by breaking the insulation property of air.The air is an insulator up to a certain voltage around it.But when millions of volts of energy surrounds it,the air gets ionized and its insulation property breaks.Now it becomes a good conductor.Lightening will strike at places which accumulate maximum positive charges.For tall trees and buildings,the positive charges are at top.Thus it strikes in taller heights.Now I hope,I have been able to explain this concept to some extent.

Twin Paradox

Hey there,  It's been long I haven't written anything but today I chose to pen-down something very close to my heart, the twin paradox. It was taught to us in 1st semester in physics under the topic special theory of relativity. The story is as under..  There were two twins A and B. They celebrated their birthday on same date every year. But on their 18th birthday A went for a space trip to rotate around a celestial object with a speed nearly 80% of light. He told his brother B that he would come back next year on their birthday when they would be celebrating their 19th birthday. He went for the trip with speed of 0.8c to space and took exactly 1year to return on earth. As he returned he found his brother B was 80 years old. Why this paradox took place? It's because earth revolved 62 years during this time as compared to A's spaceship which took only one year as it was travelling at very high speed. Difference between accuracy and precision

Hii, We hear the term accuracy and precision almost every time during performing experiments of physics.But most of the time we think both are similar.Answer is no.An experiment is accurate if it matches with exact desired value but precision is getting similar values time and again but not the exact value.Let me give you one example,suppose you are performing an experiment to get the value of g(acceleration due to gravity) whose exact value is 9.8.Now while performing this experiment if value comes to be 9.8 it is accurate but if you record 3 values like 8.7,8.6,8.8 they are considered to be precise not accurate.Thus precision is about getting close values each time and accuracy is getting the exact value.I hope it is clear now.
