Hello,
This post is for kids studying in 8th std.I say 8th so that you may know this right from this stage.Actually boiling occurs when atmospheric pressure is equal to vapour pressure of water. This means if atmospheric pressure is in equilibrium with vapour pressure. You will know about vapour pressure in 11th std.For now know about atmospheric pressure. It is the pressure applied by atmospheric air on surface of water. As atmospheric pressure is not always same so boiling point will also change. At high altitudes atmospheric pressure is lower so boiling point is nearly 80 deg Celsius at a height of 8000ft.Thats why food is not cooked properly at high altitudes. Now you have known the real reason of boiling.
Thanks...
