Why should we switch off phones in flight?

Hey guys,
You must have heard that you should keep your phones switched off or in aeroplane mode while traveling by plane.Actually the reason behind this is that the radio waves generated from your phone can really interfere with the electronic systems of plane which also depend on radio waves for their functioning.By keeping the phone in aeroplane mode all the wireless signals are turned off.Second reason is that if you use your phones at a high altitude from ground it would attract multiple signals from ground thus increasing the traffic which would disturb the signals at ground level.Third reason is that the federal aviation authority keeps it mandatory to keep phones turned off during flight.So I hope you now get a little insight about this fact.
